Iron Fists is an illustrated survey of visual propaganda produced in Nazi-era Germany, Fascist-era Italy, Lenin and Stalin-era Soviet Union, and Mao-era China. The book’s design creates a deheroicizing framework for the analysis of extremely charged materials, as artifacts are displayed in juxtaposition with documentary photography of the social contexts in which they originated.
